Trip to Atlanta!

Trip - 1 day
Log - 200 miles

Atlanta, Michigan that is!

Today was one of the last days of Summer and a perfect day for a ride on my motorcycle.  The fall colors are just starting to turn and the air is fresh and invigorating.

Headed East to Boyne Falls and Thumb Lake Road, one of my favorite roads.

South toward Gaylord on old highway 27.

Then East to Atlanta, a pretty little town on the edge of a chain of rivers and lakes.

Then headed South to Grayling on a lot of back roads (only got lost twice).
Then West (into the setting sun) to Mancelona on highway C28.

Headed home on highway 66, another one of my favorite roads up here.

Back home, where the "Deer and Antelope play"

It was a perfect day!

Riding the Tip of the Mitt!

Trip-1 Day
Log-150 Miles

Yesterday was one of those perfect days for motorcycle riding in Northern Michigan.

Left home about noon and headed to Boyne Falls to ride on the Thumb Lake Road, one of my favorite roads around here.

Headed north on old highway 27 to Indian River and made a stop at the "Cross in the Woods" for a quick prayer of thanksgiving, walk in the woods and a needed pit stop.

Continued my journey north passed beautiful Mullet Lake and on to Cheboygan.

Discovered a new road "Black River Road" and the Cheboygan Vietnam Veteran Memorial.  It has a great memorial for the Huey Chopper.  Made a stop there and met some bother veterans to share some memories with.

Headed back down highway 33 to Boyne Mountain.

Was back home for dinner after a great day on the road!
